Business Services

Fire Risk Assessments

Fire risk assessments are an essential part of safety from fire protection services. At Raydaw Fire Protection we are ready to assist you with a full fire risk assessment of your business or commercial premises. Whether you need an update to your fire alarm system or want to ensure that your business is fully compliant with fire safety regulations, our engineers will be able to meet your requirements. We will work alongside your own staff and may make recommendations for upgrades but the decision will be yours about whether you want a simple assessment or a more comprehensive installation of greater fire protection services.

Most business owners are now fully aware that any company employing over five people must have a regular fire risk assessment as a legal requirement. A fire risk assessment will ensure that all employees and clients are safe and when the assessment has been carried out we will issue a document that will allow you to receive a fire certificate under the fire safety order of 2005. If you are unsure whether or not your company is adhering to the current regulations, we can undertake the necessary work. As a reputable fire protection business we are fully insured for public liability, professional indemnity and we hold certification from the CRB.

Fire Extinguishers

Why does a business need fire extinguishers and which kind does it need? At Raydaw Fire Protection we supply and install every kind of fire extinguisher. The importance of these fire prevention devices should not be underestimated. Around 80% of all small fires that are reported are put out using a fire extinguisher and this means less of a strain on the fire brigade resources and, more importantly, less damage to property and threat to life. Installing the correct amount of fire extinguishers could make the difference between your business burning down completely or being ready to open the day after a small fire. Fire safety legislation demands the installation of suitable fire extinguishers for all businesses.

There are several different types of fire extinguishers. Fire extinguishers are designed to deal with different categories of fire. So, there are class A devices which are suitable for putting out fires of wood, plastics, paper and fabrics. Class B extinguishers will deal with fuel fires such as petrol and diesel oil and Class C are specially designed for putting out fire that erupts from flammable gases. The remaining types are meant for extinguishing fires that are consuming combustible metals, electrical fires and cooking oils and fats. So, the type of fire extinguishers that are provided by a business will always depend upon what that business does.
