My flat has been on the market and is sold subject to contract. The surveyor undertaking my Home Report said the brown panels underneath the "smoke extraction windows" on floors 1-5 of this 5-storey block were "cladding", and marked it as a Category 3 on the HR. Nobody who viewed - including the person who has made an offer - even mentioned it, let alone expressed concern. Our Residents Association Committee is pressing our factor to instruct a survey, but they are dragging their heels. My estate agent gave me your details, saying it should be possible for me to instruct a survey, but of course, I'd need to know (a) how much it will cost and (b) how quickly it could be done.
