As a legal requirement for all Commercial and Industrial businesses, You are required to ensure that your employees are safe from injury and that your electrical appliances are in good and safe order. If it has a plug on it then it needs to be tested. If it is was designed by the manufactuerer to be portable and it is wired into a fixed socket it still needs to be tested under the 1989 EAW Legislation.
Depending on the appliance the retest period may be relatively short or upto 2 years before retesting.
